Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the hosted MileMinder service, which is operated by Jack Bishop, based in the United Kingdom. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

What MileMinder does

MileMinder records odometer readings you enter and compares them against a mileage allowance you configure — typically from a lease, UK PCP or mileage-limited insurance agreement. It shows where you stand, projects where you are heading, and can email you when you cross a threshold you have set.

Estimates, not advice

Every figure MileMinder shows you is an estimate calculated from the readings and agreement details you enter. It is not financial, legal or contractual advice, and it is not a statement of what you owe.

Projections assume your future driving resembles your past driving, which may not hold. Cost figures use the excess rate you typed in, and your actual agreement may calculate charges differently — rounding, minimum charges, regional variations and end-of-agreement inspections are all outside what MileMinder can see.

Your finance or insurance agreement is the authoritative record of your allowance and any charges, and the odometer in your vehicle is the authoritative record of its mileage. Where MileMinder disagrees with either, they are right. Please do not make a decision that matters financially on the strength of a MileMinder projection alone.

Your account

• Give a real email address — it is how we send password resets and alerts.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Tell us promptly through the contact form if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.
• One person per account. Do not share logins.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• attempt to break into, disrupt or overload the service, or access accounts that are not yours;
• use the service to store unlawful content, or anyone else's personal data without their knowledge;
• scrape, resell or redistribute the hosted service, or use it to build a competing product;
• circumvent security controls or rate limits.

We may suspend or close accounts that do these things.

Your data stays yours

You keep ownership of the readings, vehicle details and agreement information you enter. We use them to run the service, as set out in the Privacy Policy. You can edit or delete them in the app, and you can delete your account entirely from Settings.

Availability

MileMinder is offered as-is, with no guaranteed uptime. It is a small product and there will be maintenance, occasional downtime, and the odd bug. We may add, change or remove features. If we ever plan to discontinue the hosted service we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

The hosted service is currently free of charge. If that changes we will tell you before it affects you, and you will not be charged without agreeing first.

Ending your use

You can stop using MileMinder at any time, and delete your account from Settings whenever you want — that removes it and all of its data permanently. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where we are legally required to. We will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, MileMinder is not liable for excess-mileage charges, penalties, insurance consequences or other losses arising from your reliance on figures shown in the app, nor for indirect or consequential losses, nor for loss of data. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and we will email you if a change is significant. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
